Letters from home.....

These pictures were sent to me today from a sweet missionary sister who captured Elder Aaron opening a letter. It was not from us- but it served as a reminder how important letters are to those sweet missionaries. So, take a moment and write a missionary this week.

Brother and Sister Proctor,

On Thursday, September 18, we had Transfer Day.  This was our first experience as we have only been in Bangkok for one month.  We are serving as a senior couple in the Public Affairs Thailand Bangkok Mission.   As I was sitting on a chair in the lobby of the church, your son picked up his mail and sat down on the couch right next to my chair.  He turned the envelope over in his hands several times before opening it.  I don’t know who it is from, but I know it was a letter from home.  So I pulled out my cell phone because I didn’t have a camera handy and took these photos.  eally, there is nothing like letters from home for these young people serving missions so very far away from home.  I just thought you might like to see Elder Proctor’s reaction.  He is a fine young man.  Very pleasant and happy.  I’m just grateful that I was in the right place at the right time to capture this moment.

Sincerely,

Sister Irene Smith

Riding the Bike in a Miraculous Way

Well as you may notice...... this email is coming at a time earlier then usual. It is because right now O am traveling around on the last  Pday as a district! We are going to go see a waterfall yeah!

So a miracle that happened this week was that whilst I was riding my bike I shifted a gear and all of sudden my bike seized up and would no longer go.  Mind you... I' m on a busy road.....so I drift to a corner and just started pushing my bike, just thinking what do I do now?? I  had a thought to get back on my bike and just go. So I did. When we arrived home, my bike started having problems again. I thought nothing of it and went inside to go to sleep because it was night time. The next morning I inspected my bike and saw that the back tire had fallen out of its position. I could have died because my tire was not connected to anything. MIRACLE.....I think so! (Yes, his mom blanched indeed thinking of all the horrible things that could have happened, but thanks to being super blessed nothing did happen)

Anything is possible mum, I could move(it is transfer week) I could stay who knows but the Lord!  I am so "old" in the mission its not even funny. There are so many people that I do not recognize in this mission any more....... it sucks!

Right now my investigators are an older man. He has a baptism date for this Sunday. He is an awesome guy. The Lord has prepared him to enter the fold. And we have sister  who still needs to get married  She has moved her house so she no longer lives with him!

I love that I am a super agent of the Lord during one of the most vital points of the Bangkok mission. I feel like I am a general protecting a vital point from evil...(if you wish to understand how I feel watch Lord of the Rings the battle called "The Battle of Helmsdeep")

God speaks with us always. Today while I was studying the scriptures, I felt that he was speaking to me and letting me know that I had been forgive of my sins. It was quite a great moment!

"Run" in with a car....and a broken stomach.....

Well to put you in panic mode already...... I got hit by another car! Don't worry..... I fought it off by kicking the foul beast in the side, making it quiver in fear and shudder in pain. (Translation- the car almost crushed him- so he decided to kick it with full force to keep the driver from doing so-it sounded as if he actually dent the car. The driver got out and started chewing Aaron out and Aaron chewed right back. I think he was scared out of his wits! But he never said if he got hurt....we assume he did not.) The next day Satan struck me down with a very severe case of food poisoning. I had the "broken stomach" (Decided not to edit this because it sounds so funny...I wonder how long it will take him to speak "proper" English. :-) from 5:50 am in the morning until about 2 pm  in the afternoon. That is when I went to the hospital...... yeah it was an awesome week of awesomness! Whaaaaaa! (So we later found out that he went and saw a gastroenterologist who gave him a bunch of pills. Aaron took a couple of them and felt better soon after. )Well all is well that ends well right?

Well yeah this week we had a baptism.  It was a great moment! This guy has been learning about the gospel for a bit. After he gets the priesthood, he will move to Phuket. He can help the church grow there, because he has the faith of ten horses!

I get tired some of the days but you know what there always is repentance if I mess up I can change and become someone better! Yes, this is the Lord's work some days everything come down on  you like a pile of bricks. You can either retreat and fall back or rise to the challenge and thump Satan in the face and say not today "Zurg!".

Here I am giving an investigator a ride to the Branch President's house. I switched bikes with my comp who was giving him a ride first. (So, I asked how the two bike's were different he told me his was black....huh???? He then later explained that his companion's bike had special flaps and something else that made it easier for the investigator to ride on the back)

Hit by a car......and a miracle...August 31

I recommend reading the Preach my Gospel manual. It will help you in you life. You can learn a lot of principles of the gospel and it will help Brian prepare to be a freaking awesome missionary! TRULY! I wish I had studied it harder before going on a mission. I studied just enough, but it still is teaching me many ways to be a better missionary and person in general!

Well this week was a lot of just inviting people and praying that we would have a wonderful miracle occur this week......which happened! We had an investigator who passed her baptism interview last week and then she disappeared. We were at a loss and then she popped up this week at our English class. And then it rained very hard right as she left, so her phone was destroyed. We had no way of contacting her and then we called her again 2 days later and her phone worked again! We then called her every day to make sure she would come to the church and then this Sunday she was baptized!!!!! WWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that it was a ver

So you already know, I was hit by a car, but it was going like 2 mph tops... LOLZ . The "Joker "was trying to kill me! It was actually very funny- so we are talking about how our area is kinda like Gotham City... So we are talking about the Joker and as we are walking across a road, this car is moving forward while we are crossing the road and bam..... HITS ME !! I guess it's really hard to see a 6 foot white guy.... LOL...... Don't worry I was not really hurt at all- just surprised! As of now I have been hit by a motorcycle(Well...this was the first I heard of this...it happened during Songkran- in April....) and now a car. All I need next is a bus... LOL! In fact there was a missionary in our mission who was hit by a bus. It destroyed his bike and broke his hand.

I am remembering how much fun Thailand is. I mean you can always find the bad in every situation no matter where you are. You just need to remember there is always good in this world!
Something that strengths my testimony is giving district meetings. It helps me feel the Spirit and come unto the savior more. I also was told yesterday by our Zone Leaders that I helped change this area -I was happy to hear that.

Remember everyone is a child of God!

Gotta Catch Them All! August 24

Well I am doing ok! LOLZ.... Well this week we had a baptism. It was good. This kid has been learning for about a year.  It was a very good time!

This past week was a very long week of just walking and walking and walking and let say walking and very little success..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Yeah it was one of those weeks.......
Let's see....... this past week we spent the days on the ground just walking and talking with every one and well, honestly getting bored with the same answer I get every day...... I is bored so I changed the way I think!

I think that I am playing Pokémon ,  so I don’t go insane..... I imagine them as an Pokémon that need to be caught...... sad I know right but I am getting bored with the walking and walking.

Hey this past week I made papaya salad without papaya I did it with a mango. Then I made pad thai this past week it was very delicious!

This transfer ends the 18th of next month and then the next one ends the 30th of October
Yep just playing poke man daily. I FOUGHT SATAN EVERY STEP OF EVERY DAY! We got 4 people as a district baptized I have been interviewing up a storm and feeling the Spirit every day.
I laughed when I chased elder gandun with my shoe each

"But I, ElderProctor, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great worth, and especially unto my people. For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry."

Guess what I am eating.......yep, Duckbill....

Hope is a thing that is hard to say. I receive hope daily that we are going to have a temple. The Zone Leaders said we are close so close! I fought the devil and came closer to God.
Seeing people baptized sets me on fire!
