You can't stop us.....

Well this week was absolutely crazy basically we had a baptism!!! It was way awesome. She was super excited. It is so awesome seeing people come unto the gospel and be able to become happy!  Thank you for the prayers on her behalf, she almost had to go back to Laos because her grandma is not doing so good!! It was way terrifying!! Luckily she could be baptized after our district conference! It was a good day!!!! Mom, I have become ridiculously bold. Basically, I can walk up to anyone and talk to them about the gospel- without even breaking a sweat! I handle rejection like a champ and I move on!

This week we ran into a lot of opposition but in the end it worked out in our favor!! Yeah-missionary work!!!!!!!!! YOU CANT STOP US THERE WILL BE MIRACLES IF YOU BELIEVE!!!!!! (Excited….. yes I am!) We did work like champs this week! Yeah it was a good week. We did struggle with getting success but you know what!?...... Good things are coming our way!! I talked to someone from the Khon Kaen branch yesterday! Sister Mo…..  It was way fun being able to talk to her in Thai and just being able to respond was the best!! We saw a weird Asian thing some odd Chinese festival. It was interesting took some pics of it! We also had a stand there and teach about baptism it was way awesome!!

So, it has been a good week not much to report except a man who was high tried to…..  I don’t even know what he was doing….. He kinda was like a dog like lifted his leg in the air and hit me with his knee….. yeah it was way weird!!! Ha-ha yeah! I have “battled” against philosophers in Thai this week. A man taught me about Buddhism and I bore in pure testimony about the restoration and truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph restoring the church and then gave him a Book of Mormon! It was awesome!!!!

A mission is tough but it is the best thing ever!! I love it – it’s the best!!!!
Spiritual moments were me being able to speak Thai like a champ and help- people come unto Christ I love Thai, I love the gospel, it is the only way!!!

Fun week!

Lantern Festival- look closely and you can see people holding on to them- before letting them go. The lanterns are bigger than I thought!

Kumphwapi

Elder Aaron keeps telling us that he lives in the "Boonies"- which means a place that is very far from a big city(to my friends who do not know what Boonies means- Swadeekah to all of you!)
So very pretty!
Aaron was saying that he has encountered temperatures around 78 degrees and that it actually feels a little "coldish" to him......

Pictures from Khon Kaen that I just "found"

Learning how to cook Thai food, running over dogs, and a Mission wide challenge....

I’m a missionary in my teenage years right now just looking for the next exciting thing… my comp is almost an adult in his prime in the mission! I am doing great. Well the mission is having exciting stuff going on there is an energy in the air! On Thursday we went to Udon to have Zone training and we are now doing missionary work differently. Basically I hold a card with a picture of baptism on it and I go up to random people and ask them if they have seen the picture before and tell them about the blessings of baptism and challenge them right on the spot!! It’ s so exciting! The mission president prayed long and hard about and has told us that if everyone gets a baptism this month something big will happen in Thailand. So yeah there is an energy flowing around it is inspiring!! Keep the mission in your prayers! EAH!! The mission president also talked with the area seventy and was told if there is no opposition there is something wrong!!

That’s good that grandpa is doing a lot better. I was worried, but all things in this life happen for a reason, I will definitely keep Omi in my prayers, she will get better that is a for sure thing yeah!!(Both his grandpa and Omi have been battling serious health issues. The next answer was to what he would want for Christmas....)
Honestly, I don’t know a tie? I gave away one of my favorite ties to a less active member a couple days ago. It was tough and I was like shoot who would have thought that I would get so stuck on a tie? Ha-ha yeah-weird right? Shoot man I don’t know a watch that isn’t black? Ha-ha or not I don’t know to be honest. Surprise me!! Could you send a glasses cleaner fabric thing because I don’t have one!
Ha-ha my mom wearing cowboy boots what’s next dad growing a mullet?? Brian getting a nose ring, or Harley growing a Mohawk??? Ahahhhhhhhhhh

I will definitely keep the people in the Philippines in my prayers for sure!! Mom if there is no opposition in the mission or pressure you are doing it wrong! Yeah because right now in Laos, they have a booming English class oh BTWS we have 4 missionaries in Laos teaching English 6 days a week. Basically what happened is that they had a huge registration class and the police came and were hassling the people. All in all the had like 300+ people trying to register so the police were hassling them yeah!! Work is moving forward fast! Pray  everyone the mission will al have a baptism!! My testimony was strengthened through boldness!! Yeah! Funny story I ran over a dog with my bike yeah.... it was tough to stay on my bike!!!

I have actually been learning how to cook Thai food its awesome I just ask the members and they tell me and I write them down. I have pad grapaw recipe that is so dang good, it’s not even funny!! I also know how to make the papaya salad to its pretty good!!! ! Transfers are in December so yeah I will be here for a little longer!! I love my area its fun so fun!!

Just going to challenge everyone to be baptized outta time love you sooooo much
Keep the faith and here is a talk from elder Holland to inspire you all back home. “These things I declare to you with the conviction Peter called the “more sure word of prophecy.”16 What was once a tiny seed of belief for me has grown into the tree of life, so if your faith is a little tested in this or any season, I invite you to lean on mine. I know this work is God’s very truth, and I know that only at our peril would we allow doubt or devils to sway us from its path. Hope on. Journey on. Honestly acknowledge your questions and your concerns, but first and forever fan the flame of your faith, because all things are possible to them that believe.

6 months...half a year...one-fourth of his mission

Well, I have not been updating the blog lately. I have been slightly overwhelmed with life lately. So, here is to trying to catch up. Elder Proctor is currently serving in Kumphawapi. He calls it the "Boonies" of Thailand. He says it is beautiful - green and lush. His companion and he are the only white people in the area. Everyone knows who they are. The branch is so small that his companion is in the bishopric (church leadership). Aaron is working on patience as his companion not only works on mission work but also takes care of his calling. Elder Proctor much rather would be out teaching people. He has also seen some wildlife and has been chased by some of it.

Well here are some of his insights over the last couple of weeks.

Well the highlight of the week was a baptism. She is way nice and believes in Jesus. That building in the background yeah that's the church....... tiny. After she was baptized we went out and watched those laterns in the sky kinda like Rapunzel movie -pretty sweet!!  Got an ok pic of one see what you think!

Baptism

Lantern Festival

So yeah this pat week was way long. A lot happened... I cut a snake into three bits(all right so I got a follow up on that as we were emailing back and forth. Elder Proctor found the snake as he took of the lid of a water source while working on the church grounds. Out slid a slippery, silvery snake....after sending some pictures to him he determined that it looked a lot like this......anyway... Elder Aaron was worried about the children playing there so he ran, got a machete out of the shed and cut the snake into three pieces so it couldn't hurt it anymore.)
I got mooned in a lesson. It was way funny threw me off hard core ,but it was a good little laugh!!  it was another tough week come and gone with many sleepless nights for my bed is made of stone - No I sleep on a rock hard bed, literally a rock. There are indents from  where I was sleeping and that's about the softest spot on the bed and it still hurts my body!

I' m feeling better this week- it was all thanks to all the talks from conference. They were truly inspirational and helped me grow so much.  They were very great talks.  We have been helping people come back to activity. We have been out preaching the gospel and bring people unto Christ. Sure we get rejected and people don't always agree with what we say but that happens right? The reason we spend so much time on the computer is that my comp is in the branch presidency. He is the second counselor. We are always updating MLS and doing tithing and what not and then dealing with the problems of the branch. It is a very special area in the mission. It has the potential to grow into something absolutely amazing.   Rise up! Your destiny is a glorious one! Stand tall and walk in the light of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! You are stronger than you realize." President Uchtdorf
Yeah the talks in conference were great they will teach the whole family to prepare for the upcoming storm as the world slowly becomes more evil. Conference was amazing it taught me so much! i have learned a lot the past week. It has showed where I need to improve and where I need to be better (i know they are the same thing) I have learned that I need to look at others viewpoints. Sure I don't have to agree with them but I can still accept them!

Well, Thailand is starting to enter the "cool" season, which means ... that the coldest it gets is around 80 degrees ......yeah not that cold really but it feels cold which is weird.  It gets dark around eight here as well. It's "0" fun because the work just dies at night time because everyone hides inside when the night or rain comes. It's a little tough when the happens but you put your game face on and go to work.

The new area is ok. I'm still trying to fit in here.  We bike everywhere man. Everywhere.... it's way crazy but on the plus side I can ride my bike with no handle bars now! Look Pa no hands!  It has not rained as much as it usually does, which is fine by me! When it rains frogs are everywhere and it gets hard to not squish them while riding! !  We have hot water but since coming to Thailand I take cold showers every day. I figure it's hot outside -why make it worse?

I was sent here ( Kumphawapi) for a reason. So far I have learned quite a bit. Maybe we will see more growth in myself! Spiritual moments are everywhere! a couple

The city is very small. There is a stop light but it doesn't get used ever it is there for looking at. They instead have a monkey round about thin/ The members... there are like four really strong members but the rest are kinda just there.

Love ya lots
Elder Yim(smile in thai) Proctor of the monkey tribe!

As you may have guessed I combined several weeks of letters.... I have a couple more weeks to catch-upon... stay tuned!
