Meeting up with Elder Imaan- a friend from College

One month!

WELL HELLLO THERE!

I am doing just fine! Its super crazy here we are preparing for 49+ missionaries to join our zone in two weeks! It is way crazy! It is a super fun thing to be a zone leader the zone has named me Mufassa! I know, right!! My responsibilities are that I just need to be responsive to the spirit and that I need to watch over the zone. The other classes we have are about feeling the spirit and what not! It’s pretty fun. We have gotten one of our investigators to be baptized it is PRETTY ROCKING!!!! I am reading Thai script and that I am starting to be able to understand a fair amount of the words! The language is moving in leaps and bounds! It is way fun to be here and just serve! I Love all the people in my zone I will try my best to have a picture of our whole zone before all the newbies come in. I promise that when I email in Thailand they will be much more detailed because here at the MTC not much is going on. It sad I know! We have a lot of devotionals; they are always so spiritually uplifting!
Apparently in choir on the twenty fourth of June we will be singing at the Marriott center for something and I quote " Historic" May Ruu! That means I don’t know. I lobe you so much! (That’s how the Thai people say it because they can enunciate v).

Elders Going To Thailand

Exciting Week!

Here is Aaron's letter:

That is super cool that Brian got his arrow of light, now he can start on his eagle right away! My daily schedule is wake up at six thirty, take a shower, work out then at seven thirty eat breakfast. Then I go and sit in class till twelve twenty, then I have lunch till one, then I go and sit in class till five twenty, then have dinner till six, then I......guess what! sit in a classroom till nine thirty! then I go back to the room and talk with the other district. Then I go to bed at ten thirty and start all over! Usaully <- spelled wrong , I have fifty minutes of gym before lunch. That's my whole day in a nutshell! Sooooo much fun. Yeah... On another note I am THE ZOOOONNNNEEE LLLLEEEEAAADDDEERRRRR!!! thats right after being here for three weeks, I am leader of eighteen whole people!  Its all good though.  Yep thats a moon! I am starting to go crazy here and I feel that the days are becoming one.. It's very ridiculous I have aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa llllllllloooootttttt of things to do. My English is starting to slip into Thai. We have two devotionals a week, one on Sundays and one on Tuesdays, they help the missionaries not go super crazy here. I like how they keep us on our toes here, it is a lot of fun! This church is true. I have felt in its goodness and wholesomeness. I am truly blessed to be here!  I miss you all very much!!!

The General Authority Talks help me feel close to the spirit. With one of lesson we taught to one of our investigators, I did not feel the spirit I felt like we were just being machines and not trying to help him understand the things we talked about.

Studying, Studying, Studying......

Week 2 at the MTC

The reason I only talked about the sisters is because my whole district is sisters! ITS SOOOO CRAZY!!!(I had asked him about that - in some of my letters....) I love the Dear elders you send to me they make my day a little better! I have begun to read  Thai script!!!! It is so cool to look at those characters and see letters not but not squiggles it is soooo cool. THE CHOC LATE MILK HERE IS DELICIOUS!! I have had at least a gallon of it! I go to the temple once a week on my pday, and yes they still have celestial service its sooo much fun! I usually just sit in a class room for eight hours which is kinda not fun but I guess its what you  do! The days have started to get nice here so we usually sit outside and study, study, study and more study. I have to be here a couple more weeks before I can be a new missionary greeter. It looks super fun!! Yesterday Russel M. Nelson came and gave a devotional it was way cool!!!!!!It is a blessing to be here! No I'm not overeating the food here is gross! (well, cafeteria food that is gross....what a surprise!)  My companions will not be leaving before me. BTW we broke the record of learning how t o read in Thai it is super cool! . My teachers are all Returned Missionaries and are super funny. It is awesome my tripanionship has a whole room to ourselves! Sundays I just don' t go to class, but have meetings almost the whole time !I love you all very much!!!! The days are speeding up here its crazy! !Love Elder Aaron Todd Slugworth Proctor

1st letter home

My p-days are on Wednesday as you can tell. (I had been bugging him in my daily letters- because I had not heard from him....and as destiny would have it...his very last possible day to have Pday was...Wednesday...) I actually have two compainions so its called a tripanionship, the language is rough and I am struggling but you know whatever! It has been a very crazy past days. The first day we were here the teachers just talked in Thai, and to be frank I almost left in frustration.  Finally, they pantomimed where I needed to go and what not.  After that i met my companions. They are Elder Black and Elder Hogan. Its like living with Connor and Preston. Elder Black is the Connor and Elder Hogan is Preston. It is pretty funny at times. The language is super rough but with Lord's strength I can do anything!  Our president went to Germany so we talked a bit in German and what not. It has been a blast here, but I feel about as big as a bug at times. . In our district their are six sisters, one of them Sister Nyrananan is a recent convert to the church, she has a super strong testimony!! . I am so blessed to be here at this time, the devotionals are super fantastic!! I  will be at the MTC for 9 weeks- not six. Hey can you also tell my friends about dear elder? I love getting those letters from you guys!
I LOVE YOU ALLL!!!

Bye for now.....

                                 “You're off to Great Places!
                                  Today is your day!
                                  Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!” Dr. Seuss

Seeing him leave with such excitement and joy, ready to go and learn- was the best parting gift he could have given us. The people of Thailand are so lucky to have him come and serve them. We are blessed to be part of his family forever!

Superhero!

Check out Brian's Superhero T-shirt!

This was a tough moment for Brian and my heart was aching for him. He loves his big brother sooooo much!
When complaining to Aaron about being an only child, Aaron so wisely advised him to get himself some imaginary friends- just like he used to have when he was an "only " child. Such words of wisdom..... Aaron is Brian's superhero in so many different ways. Brian has stared drawing superhero cartoons with Missionary Aaron as the star. And so here it is to our superhero. We love you!

Dogs have given us their absolute all.  We are the center of their universe.  We are the focus of their love and faith and trust.  They serve us in return for scraps.  It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.  ~Roger Caras

This was a hard good-bye. Harley didn't know why he was soooo loved by Aaron that day. That Wednesday Aaron and his "companion" (dad)  took Harley for a walk. I am sure Harley knew something was up. They love each other so! Aaron is Harley's human. :-)
Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.  ~Roger Caras

Farewell

Aaron's Farewell took place on Sunday, April 28th. We had so many dear friends and family members come in support of our future missionary. Aaron did such a fantastic job and really brought the spirit into the meeting. He gave a great mini-lesson on Buddhism- which will be an important part of his mission with 98% of the population practicing it. He quoted Reliant K- one of his favorite groups, Dr. Seuss, " Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,Nothing is going to get better. It's not.'' and Albert Einstein. "More and more I come to value charity and love of one's fellow being above everything else". Having charity was a big part of Aaron's talk. He did great!
